Summer Fun With Cousins

Jenny here again to give you a taste of my summer activities.  The Texan summer starts in May by the way.

Playing playdough by yourself is fun while it lasts, but for real entertainment, nothing beats cousins.
And I have plenty of cousins.
Mommy agreed to watch Parker, but...
she forgot which day and agreed to watch David, Andrew and Elizabeth too.

She managed to keep everyone busy:
First was outside time with Andrew designing the fort.

Elizabeth added furniture.

Ever the older brother, David was "in charge" of the operation.

He also experimented with how long he could possess two of the three buckets.

My room was very popular on account of my new playscape and animals.

Parker and I preferred the relative solitude (and quiet) of the living room.

We listened to my favorite CD (Carnival of the Animals)
Andrew thought it would be boring and David declared he was done dancing after the second song,
but sometimes the music compels you to get up off the couch and dance!

Little bodies are always hungry, so we had plenty of snacks in addition to lunch.
David ate a triple-decker sandwich!
I made sure to save room for raisins.

I took a long nap, and awoke to yet another snack. This one was of particular interest to my cousins,
as they don't get to use a cool popcorn maker like mine.

We finished off the afternoon with my favorite popsicles.  I don't understand those boys though, they made a big deal about "blood" being dripped on the deck.
I'm glad Elizabeth likes to play with dolls, otherwise I would have been stuck playing with the Star Wars cards.  Parker didn't say much this time; I think he was just absorbing all of the action.

I definitely had fun, and hope to do it again soon, although for some reason Mommy suggested we go to someone else's house...

New Deck

God provided the funds to be able to build a deck in our backyard.
Michael designed and built it, including the cool bench.  Jenny holds a screw in her mouth too.

We celebrated by having all of Jonathan's family out, a first for us.

Fajitas seemed like a good idea.

Sarah and David

We managed to seat 25 people comfortably plus had several tables out.

Nathan and Janna

Grandma and Grandpa have the shades going :)

Anna and Stephen

Jenny-isms:
Jenny likes her newly forward-facing car seat.  I reached my hands back to hold hers while I was driving and she asked to "bay" (pray).
Whenever I do pray, she always say "Mama, shhh!"

She is learning her colors.  Her favorite to say is "lellow"
For drink she says "nose", which sounds more like "no?"
Horses says "mee-mee"
Rhino is "rhi-rhi"
Blankie is "may-may"
She also said "mo wa-wa pees" which definitely got her a drink!
